Tree of Life: *****

So I finally got to see this movie. Took Utah a minute to get it in theaters, but it was well worth the wait. Certainly not your average hollywood blockbuster -not a movie you'd go to, to escape reality. But I want to go see it again tonight. Definitely one of the most visually aesthetic films I've seen. Intricately illustrates the joys and hardships of childhood in a beautifully realistic way, while contrasting the simpleness of human emotion to the great vastness of the universe and the natural world we live in. One Globe and Mail reviewer put it well ,"The result actually plays like a divine pronouncement, cosmic in scope and oracular in tone, a cinematic sermon on the mount that shows its creator in exquisite form. Exquisite but frustrating."  Great film. Go and see.

HANNA

so i may have a new favorite action movie. it took me a while to get out and see this film, but it is awesome. really cool cinematography and even better soundtrack by the chemical brothers. cate blanchett's faux-american accent was annoying in parts, but other than that it was great. go see

loratab, time off work, jamba juice, music, bed, books, and movies. what more could you ask of a surgery?

The Fighter, I think one of my new favorite movies. I've seen it three times. Awesome performances from Amy Adams, Christian Bale, and Mark Wahlberg.  Great direction.. great story.. great acting from minor leads.. great all around.

A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose (Oprah's Book Club, Selection 61)

onehundredtwentyseven:HRS

so i saw this film last week. i'd give it six thumbs up if i had them. very moving and inspiring. about a cavalier utah granola who got his arm trapped under a boulder for, well 127 hours. for what could have been quite a bad plot for a film, Danny Boyle did an excellent job. James Franco was also great. quite strenuous and grusome at parts but i had to recommend it! click here for a trailer

a day with the BRITS, wot wot

okay so it was really two days..
DAY ONE:
we went to the London Market and bought some of our favorite english goodies. then we snacked at the cafe: a warm sausage roll and some earl grey tea (we'll be back for the beans on toast). i also dropped a few quid on some new burberry glasses.

DAY 2:
Harry Potter 7.1 premiere!!! it was brilliant
and while we waited for our 1:30am showtime, i went to see "Never Let Me Go"

Only because I love Carey Mulligan. i hadn't read the book, but found it to be very thought-provoking. not the best film, but still worth seeing I'd say. i enjoyed it.

movie: catfish

so i saw this movie the other night and had to recommend it. it's one of the best movies i've seen in a while. the style is cool, because it's all real footage. it wasn't exactly the movie i expected, which is the reason i liked it. the movie poster says, "don't let anyone tell you what it is," so i won't. but it's worth the view
