Kitchen contraceptives??

finger condoms

trish is in the background.
I try to learn something new everyday. Yesterday I didn't have to try. Next to the stove at the Geyser Grill was a small baggie of miniature rubbers. Before I could make a witty comment to the cook, he informed me that they're a common first aid applicant for a bleeding finger in kitchens (hopefully, to go over a band-aid). So no, not a contraceptive, but yes, a guard against HIV and other blood-transmitted diseases.

  2. Cooked my way through college and had to wear one or two of them myself on the pointer finger. Also makes a great gag gift! Nice post.

  5. HAHA I'm kind of uncomfortable with the idea that someone that has a cut and blood drenching all over their fingers can still make my meals for me...bad invention, but funny nonetheless

  11. First,
Congratulations on your "Blog of Note"

Secondly, I think, now that I know. I will check the chef's fingers Before I sit down to eat. ;)

  12. They're actually called "finger cots". It's nice when you have a bandaid on because it's easier to get on than a full glove.
